Cooling gadget

While trying to design my new canopy, I came across this for the fans. Note the temp ratings for it. It can run up to 4 fans!!

That gets better and better the more that I think about it. Even if your ambient air temp goes above 80F, you want the fans running constantly anyway. Even with the $15 power supply, it's still worth the $30.

but it doesn't turn the fan on until the temp reaches 87....and shuts off when it drops to 80....so how's that useful?

Canopy temps are far higher than water temps. 80* in the canopy sounds like a really low temperature for a canopy.

Easy to build your own temperature controller where you can control what temperature turn on the fan.

Wouldnt work for me as my room temp at the moment is 81 and my water temp is 77.
Reminds me I have to hook my heater back up lol.
In the summer my heater is normally set at 80 since my tank can get to 82 then my chiller kicks on.
But with the fan I run 24/7 with the days being a bit cooler looks like now it drops my temp to low

Doug my fan runs 24/7.
Which in turn keeps my chiller off.
I unplugged my heater to clean it and forgot to plug it back in so on a colder night the tank was able to drop lower than I wanted it to if the heater was on it wouldnt have.
I agree 100% about the fan as befor it use to just come on when the halides came on but in the summer its 24/7

But there is no shame in a healthy Bro-mance........

Here is the thing, we don't want to buy chillers....so we have huge threads about running fans....now we want to find ways to cut the fans back........and make them more compilcated.....just sounded a little cyclic and forgetting the bigger picture is only reason why I commented.

Kenny, now what is the verdict on the Prime Tower, I have been on pins and needles!!!

The research continues

I found these low db- high cfm fans also. Throw in some silicone mounts and it might work.

Why not control them with the acjr? If temp > 79.8 then fan on.
