Has any one used fossilized coral rock?
I was just at "petsmart" and picked up a bag of "Reef Rock" on impulse.
It is put out by Caribsea ,6 pounds for 12 bucks and contains several small fist size pieces. They look pretty good and are fairly porous. I figured they would seed well and I could also use them for frags. Before I put them in my tank , I would love to hear if some one else has used them or anything like it.

All but 2 or 3 pieces of the rock in my tank are that rock. I rinsed it and added it no problem I have also added another bag since I set the tank up w/o issues, jut rinsed it off and added it in.

Thats cool!
How does it look now? Did it color up nicely and is it supporting many organisms? Are your zoas spreading on to them?

My tank is only a few months old, but the coraline is growing good on them. The bristleworms, pods, and stars enjoy all the little holes too. Zoa's are spreading on it much yet since everything came from just small frags (most still on the plugs LOL) but the few I have mounted are starting to spread and attach fine. I have a leather that stuck to it pretty quick though

I wish I had some zoanthids, I used to have lots in my 14g biocube . They thrived for about 18 month and then they just slowly disappeared. I do not know what caused it.
Well these are going into my 55g , I'll put them in tomorrow. Thanks for the feedback!
