MSX 200 Output Pipe - Raise it?
How far submerged should the output pipe be? I read in another thread that you can achieve better skimmate if the output pipe is higher (less back pressure).
Also, what effects will a filter sponge in the output pipe have on skimmer performance? |

Remove the pipe below the 90... have the 90 about halfway submerged. Don't know about the sponge but I wouldn't do it personally... will screw with back pressure and water level inside skimmer.

This is what I was told to do I believe. Note my ghetto skimmer stand.

Did this increase skimmate production? What is the reasoning behind the half-submerged pipe?
Your skimmer stand looks like some cut up lid from a trashcan |
