quick PH question
ive heard that having all your windows/doors in your house will lower the o2 level in your house... true? if so would i be able to hook up an air pump outside and run the stone into the tank for more o2 to raise my ph... ive been struggling with alk/ph being to low, but i use the buffer often and still no effect... ca is a steady 440ppm.... would this work?

I did that when I fogged my house........I ran it right to my skimmer....
tested waters that night after the fog tent I built was removed and ph was .3 higher than my typical average..... I didnt investigate any further...if you do any tests please post your results,......

i am going through that right now a few weeks ago i noticed that my stuff wasnt doing to well and my ph was at 7.4 at night and 7.6 in the daytime i took a cup outside and airated it for 15 min and the ph was at 8.0 opened the window in the room with the tank and by the evening the ph of the tank was at 7.9. thats the only bad thing about FL you have to have the house closed up in the summer or you and your tank will cook.

It's carbon dioxide (CO2) that you'll lower by opening a window. CO2 is acidic.
Here's a good article. http://www.advancedaquarist.com/issu...2002/short.htm |
