Question Need help with overflow

Hi,
I want to put a small sump on my 30 gallon (basically just a plastic box with the equipment in it) My tank is not drilled so I wanted to get a siphon overflow box.
I wanted to get this one:
http://shop.aquatraders.com/Continuo...00-p/44011.htm
So I have a couple of questions
-The siphon is 600gph, So I guess the return should be less or it will run dry eventually, Is this right?
I have a 500gph lying around would this be good for the return? The aquarium is 43'' from the ground.
-They say that "Recommended to use with a powerhead to prevent trapped air from the siphon" is this needed?
Anybody tried the overflow from aquatraders? Some input on other siphon overflows?
Thanks

i wouldn't purchase that overflow box..and reply to why by saying you get what you pay for..look into the U shaped models like the lifereef to prevent a potential flood..-drew
