Bubble Algae becoming an issue
So I have no other real algae issue, but this stupid bubble is starting to get to become an annoyance.
It's stuck in some crevices and on rocks I can't really remove easily to scrub outside the tank. Anyone with a sure fire way to nuke it? I hear emerald crabs are hit or miss ... anything else? |

I tried emerald crabs, they didnt work for me. I ended up taking 100% of the rock out of the tank, and all equiptment also and scrubbing it in scalding hot water...
I just got my tank back togeather, I am gonna give it at least a week and see if any bubble algae pops up anywhere, and if none does im gonna start off with fresh fully cured bubble-algae free live rock.

Desjardin's Sailfin Tang worked for me in my 110. He will grow real fast and will become a monster. I returned mine to my LFS after he had done his job.. Emeralds for me would just pull the Valonia off and I would watch it float around the Tank

But there should always be an excuse to buy an emerald crab, they are just so cool. Are you running GFO? That might be the next option to look into. You would use a phosban reactor. It will help rid your system of NO3 and PO4 which is killing the root of the problem.

I pulled my GFO reactor off line a couple months ago. Been dosing vodka and no traceable PO. I had a NO increase to around 5-10, but I've been bringing that back down. Now under 5, close to 0.
No other real algae issues. No GHA, etc. Just starting to get more and more annoying bubble |
