bad blueface

I have had this blue face angel for over six months. I was thrilled that he never picked on any of my corals but... I left town (skipped my regular feeding for 2 nights and 1 day) and when I got home I caught him picking on the cut side of a reciently fragged acan. Now that he has gotten a taste for acans do you think I need to remove him. Now that we are back to regular feedings he's been much better but I still catch him thinking about it. Any advice.

Being a proud owner of an adult emperator and an overall angel lover I say give him some time. Under careful observatin of course. Maybe feed a bit heavier with garic to insure he interested even more....if after a week he is still tempted by corals as sad as it may be you will have to get rid of him

Thanks. I'm definitely over feeding trying to curb his interest. Do you think it has anything to do with the fragging? I have only seen him nip at the cut (damaged)side of the acan.

Yes. He is quite possibly just interested in the coral slime/mucous from fragging.

My angel is usually interested in fresh cut or unhealthy corals. Also, if I leave for a few days without feeding it's a guarantee she will pick at corals.

Might want to look into an auto feeder for when your out of town.
