Would this work for a 3-gallon pico LED light?
I am getting a 3-gallon pico soon and I am already looking at different lighting for it. I was wondering would this work. http://www.oznium.com/prewired-superflux
What I would do is just take them wire a few together and since they are water proof and such them would make it perfect over a pico. I would only use maye a set of 3. Two white One blue or a set of six 2 blue 4 white and run them that way. What do you think? Thanks |

I wouldn't, those are just show light LED's and not a type usable for tanks. Look into CREE LED's and the DIY forum for some crazy stuff people have done. Hope that helps, Wiz

euro haters!!!lol he is right a pico is much harder to maintain then a larger tank, but can be successful. for a noob, get ready for water changes every 3-5 day. checking parameters every 2 day, and daily RODI top offs. I keep a 6g pico and I am very limited to what I can keep. FOR YOUR LED'S. I took under cabinet leds.with 3 puck lighting 27 total leds. built a water proof acrylic box.and covered one puck with blue lighting gel. set to a timer and VIOLA! pm me your email and i'll send you some pics

Thanks for the reply's. I am wanting something small so I can put it on my night stand in my bedroom. I understand that with less water comes more responbilitys but I am pretty good about keeping my other tank water pretty level and hope to do the same with this one. I would love to get a huge tank but money is tight right now but a small would fit the bill. I wouldnt see why the led's that I suggested wouldnt work. I am just skipping the wiring and soldering steps and go straight to plug and play. Anymore suggestions? I would love to hear.
