Need information about WM skimmers
I'm thinking to replace my 2 skimmers to my 2 systems.
my first tank is 2 tanks of 300 gallons each and a sump of 180g. i and my second tank is a 300g with 100g sump. my first thought was to replace it with ATB skimmers. for my 300 gallons tank - ATB 1050a. and for the 700 gallons tank - atb large. than i was able to get a great deal on 2 skimmers (cone ones) of Warner Marine. does anyone own any of those skimmers? how do they compare to the ATB ones? thanks a lot. |

either way, those downdraft skimmers probably works better for large system like yours.

both are great skimmer for sure. i have worked with the extra large and i must say it is awesome on close to 1000 gallons. and the customer service from atb and warner marine you can not go wrong for sure. i am not sure on the rating on the warner skimmers i am sure someone will chime in

1. if something is wrong - then to ship it to NY - its a mission impossible.... 2. you cant connect Ozone to any of those skimmers... and i do run ozone on my system - so if i will decide to get their skimmer (which is a huge maybee) - then i will need to replace my ozone with a ozone reactor instead.... and i dont want to go that route... 3. the skimmer that i will need - is huge.... 4' tall... but overall - the preformence of this skimmers looks more then great.... so i will have to think about it.... thanks a lot. |

you should ask in the Warner Marine forum. You'll get all the answers you need there...

I have a bremuda BPS-K10 ON MY 750 GAL system and it rocks.
but the only problems I have it that is needs a good size pump to run it. If energy cost is involved I would go with WM or atb. but if i did not care of the cost of electricity I would go with one of the bigger ones my self with down draft and needle with resert typ of skimmer that way you get the best of both worlds. |
