Red Fuzzy thing almost like a ball of red cotton

Noticed it in my fuge growing on my pvc, its red fuzzy and looks like a red ball of cotton.

one of my tanks was overrun with that stuff when I first set it up. 3 Mexican Turbo snails ate every last spec of it in less than a week.

Might be a form of algae. I had a similar hitchhiker on some chaeto.

Remove it. It is not all that bad, but from what I have read, there are few natural ways to remove it. I still have some here and there in my chaeto - but none has made it to the DT.

BUT - I may have a critter that likes it so -- once I did see a small fluff of the stuff in the main tank - and my rabbitfish swam right up and chomped on it. I might be lucky.

I get it on my chaeto in my sump every so often. it seems to like higher flow. I just pull it out and throw it out and never get it in the main display.
