have a few question
i have ich in my tank and i am trying to treat it. i have moved the fishing into a QT but still have some corals and inverts left in there. i have a new tank that has been cycling for a month and a half. i will be moving all live stock into the new tank but i wanna treat everything before i move them so i wont i wont transfer the ich/brook to the new tank. i am treating the fishes with formalin-3 and it says its not invert safe. for the corals i plan on moving them into a QT and just letting them stay there for 6-8 weeks. can i just throw the inverts in with the corals? do i just leave the corals and inverts in the QT and leave them there for 6 weeks with no meds? any help would be great thxs.

if you move the fish to a qt then thats fine, dont move the corals and inverts from the dt, leave it fallow for several weeks and the itch will die out with no fish to host, treat the fish in the qt, then after several weeks when the itch has died out in the dt you can put them back in again

No. You don't need to treat the corals and inverts - they would die from the copper used to treat ich. Michael gave good advice. Treat the fish for 3-4 weeks in the QT tank with the copper, and leave the display tank fallow (Fishless) for 4 weeks. This will give the ich a chance to die off as there are no fish to host. You will want to get a copper test kit to make sure that your levels in the QT tank stay in check. Too much copper will kill the fish, and too little will be ineffective in the treatment of the parasite. Do you QT your fish before you add them to the display tank when you buy them? If no, then it is a good practice to start. Good Luck!!

no, not at all, itch is a fish problem, some folk do dip their corals though. your corals and inverts wont need treating, and if you do treat them, they will die if any traces of copper comes into contact with them, itch wont hurt them at all.
