60" T5 Fixtures?

Hi,

Wondering if anyone out there has purchased a 60" T5 fixture? I found a Gniessman (sp.) model but it was, as they say, "cost prohibitive"....

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated...

I have the ATI power module. It is an excellent light but probably also cost prohibitive. On the other, this hobby is cost prohibitive.

I think a 48" fixture would work just fine. That leaves you 6 in. at either end of the tank that are dimmer, but I think this gives the tank a more natural look.

If you're determined to cover all 60", have you considered overlapping 48" retrofits? This would be the most economical in my opinion.

Plus one on the overlapping but at the same time going 48" will allow you to keep lower light coral's on the sides like some lps etc

I personaly find going 48" doesn't make a huge difference visualy by looking at the over all tank and the light but it will make a huge difference in par on the sides

60" you might need to retrofit. The powermodule is an awesome choice, but as mentioned is pricey. ATI makes the sunpod now though, so depending how many bulbs you need you can check into those. I know reefgeek has some, only up to 6 bulbs though.

a 24 and a 36 = 60. But..I would go with a 60 or a canopy and a retro.
