Who's switching from Reef Crystals after the thread here on recent brown slime?

Switching? To what. Thinking of trying Seachem. What are you going to try?

Already switched to Brightwell Neomarine. I had the sludge but was ok with it because it didn't seem to impact my display. However when I found a pretty good sized metal chip in a fresh bag and a few more smaller pieces, I felt enough was enough. I really like the Brightwell salt.

I am not swirching, I am getting goodn results. And I think if you mix it properly you will get very little to no residue. And FWIW most every salt mix I have every used leaves behind some kind of residue.

So far my numbers with RC have been spot on and consistent since I started with it. Been through 2 200g boxes and so far my tests are in line with the findings that are in the general salt mix thread by Billybeau. I'm very happy with that and how easy it is to dissolve and mix the salt. We'll see what happens overtime but for now I'm sticking with RC.

I've used coralife before but not sure if the numbers ever matched up as I never tested the calc, alk, and mag before but my softy certainly flourished. Only problem I had with the salt was that it didn't dissolved and mix near as readily and after a full 24 with a powerhead still had some salt unmixed at the bottom even after some manual blasting of the powerhead at the bottom it would eventually settle back down after letting it set for a while again (power head still in the contain and yes heater in there too.)

If I were to try another salt it would probably be Oceanic. Numbers look good for me when I get into some softies again with some LPS.

I switched to Coralife mainly because of a credit with the Drs that covered it. My last two buckets of RC had issues.

Staying with RC. I have used Seachem once and got the brown sludge with it but never got it with the RC. I think all salts will leave some type of residue but I seam to get less with RC. Now I did not clean out my mixing tank before I tried the seachem so that could have been my problem. cant say for sure but I have never had any issues with RC.
+1 for staying with RC

I'm staying with RC, the slight dusting of my bucket doesn't affect my tank.
