Smallest temp housing for Naso and Yellow Tang....

I wanted to know what the smallest temporary housing could safely be for a naso tang and a yellow tang? I will be getting a new 180 gallon tank, but it will take a little while to get it up. I have to dig out the floor to reinforce it, plumb it, paint the back, all that fun stuff. The fish are about 3.5-4 inches. Please let me know what size tote or tank I'd temporarily need and how long I could safely keep them there. Thank you for your help.

you could put them separate tanks of about 40 gallons for a few weeks, its no different to the store. I wouldn't recommend putting them together in anything less than 100g.

I dont particularly disagree with the above suggestion, but I do believe its a bit excessive for a temp solution...

I would do ~75Gal tank that could hold both of them for a couple of mnts or so... especially if they are in a tank together as of now... Keep some type of cave structure that anyone one of them can duck into during any type is scuffle...

Keep in mind, for tangs... the length of the tank is more important than a Gal Rating, or height...

BTW... Seems like a big job for a GIRL to be doing...

I have a 90 gallon that half cylinder I was working on. I could somehow plug the holes and use that. Do you know how I could do that? I assume there is some type of plug for bulkheads. Or, I could ask to temporarily use his stock tank. Yes, both those tangs are together in the tank. Of course I wouldn't be digging alone! lol. There is no way I could get that done alone. =)

A couple of 10 dollar totes with some jury rigged skimmer plumbing is not too hard to set up in a pinch

I have a ton of totes, but I don't think putting them in a 45 gallon tote would be humane. =( I don't know. That's why I am asking on here.

I have a Naso and a Hippo together in a 75g while we finish up our basement and set up a 210g. It's taken longer than expected and I feel bad for the tangs in a 4' tank but so far they've been getting along well. I have to feed them a lot though to keep them happy.

The 90 is perfect...

I'm assuming you mean that the 90Gal was drilled for a closed loop, or just the standard overflows?... in either case... there are plugs at any good LFS, or plumbing supply website/store that will easily plug that up... (just measure the inside diameter of the 'head)

Quick tip, use teflon tape on the plugs to be safe...

And if you need any help digging let me know.. I'll spin by...
