lighting suggestions for novice

First off my unit is a nova extreme, 39w X 4 with a reflector over all 4 bulbs, which I know is the bottom the barrell. It still has the stock lighting (2x39W-10,000K Daylight/2x39W-460nm Actinic), which I haven't replaced the bulbs for about 2 years. I eventually want to keep an anemone. This is over a 29 gallon.

1. Can this lighting support an anemone?

2. Any other brand bulb suggestions other than current usa?

No, that setup will not support an anemone. I had this unit a while back and my bubble tip suffered. That was with stock bulbs though.....

UVL or Giesmann are both great bulbs.

the UVLs come as 34" bulb. Would this fit my fixture?

Yes. All bulbs listed as 36" are really 34". This is just the size of the fixture itself. Only when you get down to 20", 18" are there actually 2" increments.

I currently run.

UVL AquaSun
UVL SuperActinics

I think the AquaSuns are a little to pink for my taste, and most say that the SuperActinics are lacking in PAR output. I actually love the SuperActinics. They are just supplemental to my MHs though.

Post in here, let Grim or one of the T5 guys know what you want to do. Their may be a bulb selection out there that would allow you to have a 'nem if you keep it in the upper portions of your tank.

I recommend that you follow this suggestion. Guys on that forum, expecially GrimReefer, are the RC brain trust when it comes to T5s. They can tell you if an anemone can survive and give you a good bulb combination to accomplish what you're wanting...

I go to Grim every time I have a T5 question; I'm running 24 - 54W bulbs on my display tank...every one selected by him.

JMHO.
