TAAM Rio NanoSkimmer
Got this unit a few weeks ago, and it worked great until last monday, when the pump just quit. TAAM sent out a new impeller that day and it's back to doing what it did before then - skimming. I've got it pretty tuned so the top of the foam is just above the bottom of the collection tube. It's still producing a few microbubbles, but it did for a few days after i first set it up as well, and then broke in and would accommodate the flow being all the way up with very little to no microbubbles. The sound in the video is from the tank filter and the airpump I use for the feeder box. The skimmer is pretty much silent except for the sound of foam bubbling.
So far I'm pleased with the performance, especially for under $40. It seems to do the trick quite well for a 20 gallon. I will be testing parameters on tuesday, and will post last week's as well as this week's results for comparison. Here's a video:

down to virttually zero microbubbles. will post parameters tomorrow, but here are last week, after the skimmer had been down for a few days:
dkh:15; PO3:1.0; Ca:400; NH3/4: 0.5; NO2:0; NO3: 0; pH 7.6 i did a 25% water change shortly after the tests, so we'll see how that and the readdition of the skimmer help.
