Aquactinics MH/T5 mini-review
I just received my 36" 2 x 175 plus 2 x 39 fixture. Very nice fixture. I can't believe how little heat this adds, I can put my hand under the bulb and can only feel a little heat. I think the heat is comparable to my Tek 39 x 4 without the azoo fan running. The fans are not quiet but create about the same noise level as my azoo quad fan.
The ballast is huge, partly due to the oversized heatsink, but was cool to the touch after the lights were on for two hours. Hopefully this will help extend the life of the ballast. I dont have a way to measure PAR or light output, but the reflectors are great and the fixture is very bright. The fixture comes with great moonlights also. Finally, Erica and Tom at aquactinics were very helpful when I called to ask about the fixture before ordering. I'll take some pictures soon. |
