tek sunlight supply vs ati sunpower

setting up a 65 gallon sps tank looking for input on these two t5 fictures the ati sunpower or the sunlight supply tek light. getting the 6 bulb one the problem i have is i can not hang anything from the cieling or the wall the one end of the tank is by the window. any input on how to put the ati sunpower over the tank would be great or i could just go with the tek wiht the mounting legs on it.

i was told the ati was better though, thats why i wanted some input on the two so i can see my options

thanks shawn

Ive seen people use metal conduit bent to create hangers over the tank for fixtures.

The ATI is far better- it has active cooling and acrylic shield.

Something like this, wouldn't cost more than a few bucks.

I used 2 U-bolts to attach it to the rear center brace on my stand. I did paint it black for looks. Looks great and get rave reviews from whoever sees it. Heres a few pics.

I have an ati PM over my 90g, and a tek over my frag/growout...there really isn't any comparison. The PM is brighter by far, and the build is fantastic. If you want/need the light to look good because it is not in a canopy/hood, then the PM is the way to go.

I actually measured the PAR - Tek 4 bulb vs Sunpower 6 bulb - it should be 50% higher, but in fact it was more than 100% - getting 900-1000 PAR at the surface, 500 mid tank. Sunpower is surprisingly more powerful.

You could even build your own light stand, say of acrylic, for the fixture to rest on. Let the company know also- the more demand they have for brackets, the more chance they will offer something.

Did you use the same bulbs?
