Question Going fishing!

I have a nice 120 reef tank with the corals just where I want them. problem is I did not think of the fish I bought and how much they would grow. Now I am over crowded and need to get a few of them out. I have two sail fin tangs and a fox face I would like to get out. I tried a net and the plastic trap thingy with no luck. I don't want to disturb the reef since it has took me a while to get it all the way it is.
I have noticed that when the tangs fin each other they leave a bad gnash. But they are healthy and heal up in a couple weeks. So I was thinking of using a small fish hook and catch one and see how that works. Has any one tried this?

I caught a large yellow Damsel and Clown with fly hooks. I went to Outdoor World and purchased very small line and the smallest fly hook they had and filed the barb off. Cut some small pieces of shrimp and it was all over in like one minute for each fish. I put them in a quarantine tank and they where fine. I tried everything plus a few other things as you did to get them out with no luck but the fly hooks did the job fast.

I have no real advice for you on catching fish but it is nice to see someone actually caring about their fish and wanting to get a fish that is too big out.

I did the hook and line, it works. Watch your flow though and be mindful of where you "cast" or you may hook a soft or lps coral which isnt good.
