The Linkia feeds on bacteria, algae and other layers of stuff that grow in a established tank. I had an orange one for about 3 years. If you don't have an established tank with very mature L/R, it will most likely starve to death.

I have had a blue linkia for almost 3 years now in a 100g reef. The tank had only been set up for 3 months when I first added it, but I had purchased all of my live rock from an established tank that was being taken down so that was a major factor in the starfish's survival I'm sure.
