anemone in powerhead....

...so my mom just called me and she was all upset. She said that her rittery anemone was stuck in the powerhead. she said that the foot was still attached to the glass and she turned the powerhead off. she said a lot of the tenticles are torn off but the base of it looks okay...do anemones bounce back from this? I also had an anemone get sucked into an powerhead but it was donzo...no bouncing back. so she doesn't know if it's going to live or not. but she said that her mandarin & her firefish were dead on the bottom as well. do anemone let off toxins when they die? do you think that's why these fish are dead as well? or is it just a coincidence?

I had a long tentacle and carpet get sucked into pumps and they both grew back just fine but they are a hardier anemones than your moms. Anemones do release toxins but nothing happened when mine got caught. Probably anemone though.

I would think the deaths were from toxins released as said above. Honestly the best thing to do to see if it bounces back is give it time. I would have her heavily run some carbon for a few days to attempt to cleanse the toxins from the water column.
