reef octopus bh 100f is loud!!!

Hi All,
I just got my reef octopus bh 100f, I set it up and the pump is REALLY Loud! I cant figure out why... I set it up the best I could... my skimmer did not match the one in the picture... I have a valve that I didn’t use... I dont even know where to put it. it came attached to the blue tube but I had to connect it to the top of the intake. The other clear tube has a silencer on it. I attached some pics, I hope you guys can help me solve the issue. Does the skimmer start out load then becomes quite? Any tips on how to make it quite (with the exception of turning it off

)?

I just got this exact same one yesterday and I stuck that extra valve on the other end of the silencer and that stopped a lot of the noise and let me adjust how much air goes in and out. I hope that helps.

Did the bubbles it was spouting go down for you now that it's been a few days?
