MH question - 175 with 250 ballast

Header is really the question. Has anyone burned a 175w SE halide with a 250w electronic ballast?

can't do it. bulb won't take that for long.

Iv got one cooking for over 6 months now, its on an older, e ballast...

To be honest, its best to use the rated wattage bulb for the rated wattage ballast. Save yourself the headache and possible fire hazard please
