All in one vs normal?

Hey everyone. I'm trying to get a 37g tall tank setup for me and was planning everything out and was going have some family purchase the items needed for christmas. But I was wondering would it be cheaper for me to go the route of building this tank up or just getting a all in one tank? I only have the tank/stand/ 1 power head, and maybe a protein skimmer not positive though.

So I was wondering what be the smartest choice to go with. I like the all in ones but I don't like how little they are in gallons. I saw a 39g cadlight which I liked, but if anyone else has any other opinions on other sizes please list if you think I should go the ALI route.

If you already have the tank, stand and a powerhead then it will be better for you to work with what you already have.

i bought two biocubes 14 gallons3 weeks ago and now i already have a 20 gallon long with a 30 gallon refugium waiting to be set up. i for one preferred the normal set up myself but if you decide to go all in one get the solana 34gal. it's a rimless starphire tank with a built in filtration and skimmer in the back. imo the nicest aio tank.

With my tank I have, I also have 2 holes drilled at the top. Only issue I have with that is what to do for a overflow.

Ok so far 1 vote stick with my tank and other vote is either or in a way?

from what ive seen, if you're a diy type of person you'll have much more fun going with the tank you already have. but if youre looking for a turnkey tank go with an aio.

as far as overflow goes you can buy a kit from glasscages.com or buy a prefilter/hob overflow. with the prefilter/hob you can use the two holes already drilled as returns.

Build it yourself instead of getting the all in ones. It will be fun picking out all your things plus while doing that you can learn a great deal by asking questions about each thing you buy.
