RO/DI yield Help

Bought Aquasafe unit while back. Being getting very poor results (<1gpd) rated for 100gpd. Water pressure is 80 psi. What can i do to increase my yield other than buying a booster. Appreciate the suggestion.

Hows your waste water, sounds like you might need a new RO membrane.....

How long ago is "while back"? It sounds like your RO membrane is clogged, they should last a couple of years, but if your tap water is dirty and you don't maintain your pre-filters they can go bad quicker.

The waste water is produced when you make RO water. You will usually get about 3 to 4 times more waste water than RO water. You do have this waste line hooked up and running into a drain, right?

Exactly what Shawn said.... i would think trying a new RO membrane would be the cheapest thing to try first. do you have a flush valve on your wast water line? if you dont kits are sold for a couple of bucks with instructions as how/where to hook them up. I open my flush valve after every batch of RO/DI water. It helps remove build up that has formed on the RO/DI membrane.

Not really. As the OP said, poor output since day one. You may have it connected wrong or your pressure may be too low to push water through it. Get a pressure gauge and see what you have first if you're sure it's hooked up right. Where did you get the unit from and when????

Not sure why you all keep asking what the water pressure is LOL. I think mine runs at about 65-70 psi and I get about 4 gallons an hour which is roughly 100gpd. My guess is something is just not seated correctly in there. Are you actually getting 0 TDS out?

Sorry, my bad, I didn't see that. What lord said is what I'd check next. Remove the membrane and make sure it seats all the way in when you put it back.

Not to me. I just didn't see that. I think it was the boster pump that threw me off. With 80 lbs of pressure, the thing should be flowing fine. I was wondering why no one else was talking about the water pressure. lol

yeah you should be able to just buy another membrane. They are generally rated something like 50 75 and 100 gpd but they should all fit in your unit.

If it has been like that since day 1 then I'd definitely take a look at how it's hooked up and remove the filter to make sure it's seated properly and that nothing is clogging it. An RO membrane should last several years.
