Skimmer stopped?

Tunze 9002 i put in my sump last monday. After a couple days got it dialed in and was working well, dark, dry foam. This morning it seamed like it just stopped. If you take the cup off you can see bubbles in the skimmer but to get them to rise into the cup I had to open the air vavle almost all the way. Bubbles are just barely making it to the cup, is this normal or is it still breaking in?

Probably just breaking in. If I have my hands in the tank for an extended period of time to do maintenance (a bad habbit), it will slow down production on my 9002. It also works better with the collection cup clean, opposite how my old Aqua C remora worked, which produced better when it was dirty.

Thanks, I just thought it was strange last night it was working well but today nothing. No hands in tank, no wc, just stopped.

Any chance there is something caught on the impeller of the pump slowing it down? They are easy to clean (at least after you have done it once).

thegrun, thanks alot!! Took the skimmer cup off and cleaned it with the brush that came with it, put it back on and hot damn, started overflowing the cup. Had to dial the air way back. I'll be calling on you in 6 months when I have to take this thing apart to clean it!
