FS: SWC/MSX Extreme 160 Skimmer - $180

Skimmer for sale

This is a really well made skimmer and has done wonders compared to my previous asm g2. I had it on my 112 with 29 sump and had about 10 medium size fish in it. It did great and I had sps and such. As with most skimmers, the level of water needs to be constant and the skimmer should be cleaned once to twice a week for optimal performance.

I have the mesh wheel with extra mesh. I never tried it but I'm sure it wouldv'e done sick if I did.

Price is $180 and I won't go under that. I have used it since February. reason for the low price is because I had to super glue one of the legs on the bottom in place. Holds really well and has no effect what so ever on the performance. Comes with a thicker and better air hose (the one it came with would kink)

Located in North Miami Beach,
Thanks

Free bump...

Hey guys I have the same skimmer but an Octopus 160 and have a question. I see the pump goes connected to the bottom of the skimmer but how? I think I am missing a piece to connect the pump to the bottom of the skimmer, or in other words how is the pump connected to the bottom of the skimmer?

Thanks

mojo, it kinda just fits right in. thanks for the bump

for those who don't know, the swc/msx and the octo extreme are essentially the same thing except that the swc/msx have a better venturi to pull more air. They are the same design otherwise, very well made for the price

still for sale

I like that skimmer and I am hoping that it will fit in my sump. I am trying to get the exact demensions and cant seem to come up with them.
My sump is 7.75 in x 9 in. Could I cram that in there. Its almost 12in diagonally. Thanks for any info, Ed

you might be able to cram it by putting it on a stand with the piping close to the body and have the outlet pipe go over a baffle. Mine was in a 8" by 11" space and there was a lot of room when I placed it in like that.

btw, this was sold
