Lighting
I have a question about my lighting. My fixture is two bulbs, 1-36watt Actinic 03 Blue and 1-36 watt 10,000k fluorescent. Currently I have been turning both on at the same time in the morning and also turning both switches off at the same time. Just wondering if I should be stagering the times when they come on and off. Ex should I turn on the fluorescent first then the actinic blue and at the end of the day turn the fluorescent off and leave the actinic blue on for a while after before it shuts off for the night? Any suggestions in stagering lighting times. Thanks

Sure you can, but I don't think it's that big a deal if you don't. Most people will turn their actinics on an hour before the daylights, then leave the actinics on an hour past the daylights.

I don't know that there is an data proving one method is any better or worse than another. Some people want a dawn/dusk effect but I have not ready anything that suggests wether a dawn/dusk effect makes a bit of difference to your corals. |
