Fluval Edge?
I am considering using this tank for a QT tank then to use as a nano when my 55 is fully stocked. http://www.hagen.com/uk/aquatic/addinfo/fluval_edge.cfm here is a link to it on Hagens website.
It is a 6 gallon tank that is stunning in person (the pictures on the site do not do it justice) The only concern that I really had was the type of lighting and weather or not is would work at all for salt was thinking like lr and maybe a couple nice mushrooms and one fish type thing. The tank uses halogen lights 2x 10w. I love the look of the tank and thought it would be a beautiful nano and with the design I wouldn't have to worry about my cat getting into it and or fish jumping out. Any input anyone?

It is a beautiful tank and was considering getting one myself. Im not exactly sure but im pretty sure i read that those lights cant support corals exept some xenia and shrooms, maybe some zoas . if you do get the tank and are not happy with the lights you could just replace the stock lighting with LEDs.

I built one up aleady. its the sickest pico ever... looking down onto the corals is why I have it. I did a DIY LED kit and couldn't be happier. I ordered mr 11 led bulbs to replace the existing bulbs, and am building a overflow to a sump. GOODLUCK. pm me your email and I'll send you my DIY plans.

did you just run sockets parallel or did you need to add plugs/ballasts?

my LED kit is used for under cabinet lighting, completely torn down. glued to 1/8 in. acrylic, painted black to match the tank. it is no taller than 1/4 in. and cost around 65-75$total from home depot(plus Ihave two more pucks) there are 9 LED's per puck, two of which have been covered with lighting gels. totaling 36 LED's, 18 white, 18 blue. plus two 10 watt mr 11 bulbs. good luck. hey pimp4chedda I was also silently following your thread on nano, but I like RC better. I currently building a stand, overflow, sump. for my edge. I have been documenting it for the most part. I can't wait to see what others do. so we can share ways to make this pico work better. TONY

I keep them. acans, frogspawn, zoas, dendros, leathers, and a potato chip. some browning on the sps but when the blue leds are on, its green. lots of WC's.

Did you just replace the stock bulbs or add additional lighting?

Anyway, the LED's look great. Any pics of the lights alone. I can't really see anything in the pics you posted. They look great...I didn't even know they sell LED's at Home Depot!!! Quote:
