mixing clownfish

ok i rescued a pair of false percs and a bunch of corals from a tank that was over grown with algea. my question is can i mix a pair of false perc with a pair of black footed clowns? went to see if i could save the corals and the guy had the fish he was just going to flush them. my main tank is a 135 gal. can it be done or do they need to go to the sump until i can find them a good home.

I'm not going to say there's NO chance, you just don't have a very good one. Not many people successfully house two pairs in a tank, especially in one where they'll be able to see each other easily. Since you already have healthy black footed clowns I simply wouldn't risk it.

Those clowns are complety differnt from what is listed.

Since you have had your other clowns they will be aggressive towards the new comers and or vice a versa depending on the size of the new guys. I agree, it could end up just being a all out battle until there are dead clowns.

I wouldn't take the risk!

It's an excuse to set-up another tank!!!

It might work it might now. All you can do is try but be prepared to remove the new guys if the fighting gets out of hand.

How large are the respective clowns? If they are fairly small there should not be an issue.

They might be an issue with the older residents. I have seen a small clown go after one twice its size. I dont think size matters when it comes to territory.

If your going to try them, make sure to put them at the farthest location from the others, and make sure there is hiding places. If their similiar sizes should be ok.

I'd say 70/30.. Existing clowns kill the newcomers/ everyone gets along fine.
