Lifereef HOB system, How to start siphon ?
I bought a used setup recently and it has a Life Reef 150 system. Can anybody give me pointers on getting the siphon started ? I tried finding instructions online but didn't have any luck.
Can anybody tell me do the U-tubes go into the chambers with the drain opening or the higher center area ? Thanks |

I'd actually love to know the answer to this as well, since I am purchasing a LifeReef HoB myself. Bump for the good question.

I have no clue what that is, but i do know to start a siphon, you just suck on the end until you see the water comming, basically once its passed that upside down U loop, you can stop if you dont want a mouthfull of water like i got the first time i tried it.

U-tube goes in the chamber WITHOUT bulkhead, Felix in your case the center. Just stick some airline tubing in the U-tube to the top and suck out the air. You will have to add some tank water to the outside box.

I'd email the guy off the Lifereef site if your still having trouble. I had a question about one of his skimmers. He replied promptly and seemed to be a stand up guy.

I snaked up a small pc of airline tube into the top of the U (with both ends submerged) and sucked hard until the water flowed up the tube and pushed out the air. Works great.
