Orchid dottyback laying eggs?
So I have witnessed my lone orchid dottyback with some type of white glob under her midsection. At first I was terrified that it was some type of fungus. I have had her for several months and have had no new additions to the tank. When I see her like this she usually paces in the tank and then hides for a day or so...then she is back to normal. This has happened 3 times so far...in other news...my sharknose goby seems to eat the eggs or whatever they are...
The glob looks life eggs according to google image search. I am totally cool with her laying eggs, but the baffling part is that there are no other dottybacks in the tank...Is she spawning unfertilized eggs? Other tank mates include a OC. clown, sharknose goby, and a fang blenny. What is going on here? |
