Question about IceCap 660

I have a Nova Extreme 4x54 watt 48" T-5 fixture with a Blown out ballast, so currently I am only running 2x54.

I was trying to decide on if I wanted to but a whole new light fixture, get a standard $40 ballast as a replacement for the blown one, or get a $150 IceCap 660 to operate all 4 bulbs.

I have an LTA and a BTA which would be the biggest light users in my tank, everything else seems to have adjusted to the "low light" situation I have right now.

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

IMO, the 660 is one of the best ballasts money can buy. I have several - the newest is at least 5 or 6 years old, and they just keep working.

Good to know thanks...Do you know if I can run all 4 bulb on 1 IC 660?

And can it be wired so that 2 actinics can be turned on and then the 10k?

Also, I hear good things about the 660, will I be better off with the 660 wired up to all 4 bulbs or 2 seperate, standard ballasts in stock form?

The light has 1 reflector, not individuals.

Thanks again!

The IC 660 will run all 4 bulbs at one time. you can't switch 2 bulbs on at sperate time, that requires 2 ballests. The IC will also "overdrive" your bulbs creating more watts per bulb, but also wear them out faster. For instance it will turn a 48" 54watt bulb into producing I belive 85watt.
