background dillema
Hey guys I have problem with my background. I have a blue colored overflow but fell in love with the black color background. Is there anything I ca do to get thebackground I want or do I have to bite the bullet and go with blue background?

Is there anything in the tank yet? The paint mentioned above will work, but if your overflow is internal it might be tough to do a good job with it. If you do have the tank stocked I think you just get to bit the bullet, sadly.

No the tank is not stocked yet but its 32in tall so like you said it may be hard to do a good job on. So ill think about it, but I think I will eventually bite the bullet. Thank you both for the input

I am sure you can get black paint similar to Krylon fusion and use a brush /roller to apply. It doesnt need to look perfect... its black.
I would do it now...

you could make your own cover out of black acrylic if you heat it and bend it.

get the krylon fusiion paint... only takes about 2-3 coats... simple, cheap and effective. Make sure to do it outside though :-)

Like username in use said, i think the easiest option is to get some black acrylic and attach it to the outside of the overflow.

That's what I was afraid of. The odor would be too strong to do indoors since my tank is in its final resting place and I don't have the man power available to help move outside and back. This acrylic that was mentioned, where can I find some and how do I go about putting it on?
