Just thought I'd try to post my first halfway decent set of pics of my tank thus far. Please if anyone has tips on how to get good shots with a cheap point and shoot feel free and thanks in advance! Hope you enjoy...

Is this the preferred way to get photos into the post? And how do you get photos into the text section (big shots not attachments)? Sorry this is the first time i've put pictures up.

Start a Photobucket account, then upload your pictures to it. Then you copy and paste the text I've highlighted in red and it will show up in the post.

You can quote this post and see the code I used to make the picture appear in the post, it will help explain it a little more.

Thanks too recty. I am looking for a point and shoot tips. I have a fujipix z10fd... kind of lame. I am wondering how to get the most potential for good tank shots with this camera.

Just a BTW, that isnt "noise" in the sense most photographers think of noise...

It isnt from your sensor, it's from just having crap in the water. It takes a lot to get rid of that, you basically have to use Photoshop heavily and clone or somehow else remove every single spot.

It's very labor intensive.

The best way to do it, imo, is turn off all your pumps and let the tank settle for 10-15 minutes, then start taking pictures. This will also cause your corals to quit flopping around in the current and you'll get crisper pictures.

That is great advice. Im thinking that the pumps off will be much easier to do than the photoshop, you're right.

Hey thanks i appreciate it gang. So what is the ideal iso with a Point and Shoot? or should i just be playing around with it looking for that happy medium?

Glo 2x39 fixture with 18k and actinic. Now I have ATI aquablue special and blue plus. I love the new bulbs!

ATI bulbs are the cream of the crop i have 2 ATI blue plus over my tank as well

I completely agree and I basically read grim reefers entire thread about t5s and those are what he reccomends for everyone. I am soon getting 4x39 retro kit. I'll use the two I have and another blue+ but I'm still not sure on bulb #4.

You might try and find some pics of a tank with a pro color bulb in it... It kindof adds a redish tint to the rockwork and really makes coraline pop... I used to have one over my tank but they are kind of hard to come by

I thought about Doing the procolor to get some reds and purples to pop. But I do not want to sacrafice the blue color. I don't know what Kelvin you would say blue+ and aquablue special produce (maybe 14k). But I think I want to go just a bit more blue 15-16k comparatively. 20k is way to blue.
