Dual over flow and return question

I have the Marineland 150gal with the dual over flow kit. My water level in the overflows go up and down to the drain holes on the over flows and make a burping noise. Is there a science to this? Tube width? Length of tube from the right to left? Water return? ect ect........

Is your overflow just a regular pipe or is it a modified type like a durso, herbie, stockman, etc..? If it's a modified pipe make the hole a lil bigger.

Its just a regular pipe that came with the over flow kit with a lil breath hole at the top a bigger ones about 2 or 2.5 inches down from that.
