Anenome Squirt
I finished setting up a full setup and running 75gal.
Loads of soft/hard coral with fish The anenome is open with nemo having fun. I was looking and the anenome released a shot of white stuff. What was this? still seems to be doing fine. Nemo is happy and still snuggling with it. Is it ok? Thanks, Rob |

What type of anemone is it?
It could be a stress induced spawn, or it could just be expelling waste...

Bubble tip
I was thinking waste, but was unsure. it was stressed by moving, it was white murky squirt that shot out and dissipated quickly. I just somehow caught it with looking at a clown nuzzling, Thanks, Rob |

Did it do it as you added it to your tank or after it's been in there for a while?

It was in there for about an two maybe three hours.
After I filled the tank with sand, rock and all corals, I then added the fish. The clown fish actually fell onto the anemone and started to caress it and fan it. The bubble tip finally opened slowly and then after the clown was inside for an hour or so, I was watching and then it happened. I now have the antintic lights on for about 4 hours and everything is open up. The anemone seems to be fine. Rob |

Now the anemone is starting to close.
The clown fish actually seems to be helping it to close, or something the clown is staying on the underside and nudging upwards the outer stem Is there any relevence to this?? Is this how the clown opens the anemone or closes it? The anemone is kinda going in and out. I changed the power heads so they do not flow severely of the anemone. Seems to be doing better. I aslo only have the actinic lights on and I dont htink I will put the halides on for today. Would one full day be ok to then have the halides on? |

The tank was setup for 5 years.
I just bought it and moved it to my place. It has been up and running here for about 12 hours. |

you could have caused a mini cycle during the move.

The anemone is half open, and looking inside, I see the mouth is growing or puffy.
Any next steps I should do? Still seems like the clown is trying to care for it and protect it. Thanks, Rob |

A gaping/open mouth is not a good sign... Do you have any test kits so you can tell us your params? a water change might be a good idea... ammonia and nitrite may now be present.
