filtration needed?

Do you need a filter? If you have a good amount of LR and good water flow along with consistant water changes...do you need to have a filter?

I don't see the point. Isnt the LR and water changes all the "filtration" you need?

You will be fine for now. but I would get some type of filter ASAP. Remember theres more than one way to skin a cat. Live rock is one type, but it may require a lot more water changes. The water might smell. There is negatives and positives to all types of filters.

live rock, skimming, flow and waterchanges are basic reef aquaria needs, no need at all for any other type of filtration with a basic light bioload system

If its less than a 20 gallon, you can get away with out having a skimmer, but id say to throw in some carbon, so you can have shiny water, and take out any smell. Atleast do carbon and then you will be okay.

People get away without skimmers in much larger tanks as well. No skimmer generally just means more frequent water changes because without one it is harder to get the wastes out.
