10 gallon foam rock wall build

Well I have decided to change from a 3 gallon to a 10 gallon so that what I can put in it is a little more diverse. I will try to throw some pictures up soon of the progress. currently I am 50% done with the rock work using the pond foam and base rock.
I am looking for suggestions on lighting and on livestock.
Any input is appreciated!

I'm starting a 10 gallon too. I have a 120 currently. One thing I did is to take off the plastic top and bottom rims to make it rimless. It looks really cool and with a 10 gallon it will hold up just fine. I also wanted it to look as sleek as possible. I think I am going to put a 70W MH pendant over it that can be suspended without touching the tank. Here's what I'm looking at:

The live stock I'm considering are a goby pistol shrimp pair and maybe some other inverts. The MH should allow sps or any other high light creatures. I'll be interested in what you end up with. Good luck.

marve, i am just starting a 10 too , and also going to be doing a foam rock wall (this seems to be the new rage).

Keep us posted with your progress. Got any pics so far ?

What did you use to support the structure, did you use eggcrate ?

After my hiatus I am back. I will throw some pictures up later tonight. The tank is now done and on my desk at work. Filled it up with water and salt and tomorrow I am going to add the live sand and a couple pieces of LR to seed it all.
I am debating removing the trim on the top with the tank full of water. Bad Idea?

I got it at home depot but i have heard they have it at lowes. The foam and the fiberglass epoxy resin were both bought at home depot as well as zip ties and egg crate. Gotta love the depot

That light will work. I have one of their PC lights and I can tell you the fans on those lights can be kind of loud however they do a pretty good job of lighting.

I still think I would go with the 70 MH I posted earlier just as much for aesthetics as anything else but in my experience MH grow sps much better than PC if you were considering them. That being said, you won't have the heat issues a MH would with the current light. Have you looked at any T5 options?

Also, about the removing the trim w/water in it, I would not. It takes some time and you have to razor blade off the silicone too. Here's a link to a guy who explains the process.
