I'm redoing my tank. Do I have to get .50 cutting board or is it ok to go w/.25. It's a different of $30.

I use 1/4''(.25) Starboard in my 125 gallon, and yes it was a big difference in price compared to the 1/2"(.50). It does the same job, and was cheaper....save your money.T

i choose 1/4" hdpe for the same reason, and i'm not happy with it. its _mostly_ flat, but curled up a bit at the corners. it looks ok except for up close, but it does get junk under it. i'm considering using sand again actually, before i just used the bare glass, and i'm not a huge fan of that anymore either.

i don't know if the thicker hdpe stays flatter, it should, but i don't have any experience with it.

hope that helps!

Not yet, however I've got quite a bit of rock on it. T
