I put a big honking 42 watt cf in one of those clamp lamps and it works pretty well. I use a couple of those lights.

any light and any amount of it will keep cheato alive. i even have had no lights just residual light and it was growing just not as good. when i had a 150w de light it grow by the 5g bucket load every 2 to 3 months

Lowes' website is acting weird right now, but it's like $15 with tax for both in store. Just make sure to get the 6500K bulb and not the 2700k.
