I paid 500.00 for one but it had tons of equipment with it. Skimmer, sump, lights, ballast, chiller, etc.

brand new you're probably looking at around $350 for a RR...so i'd say a good price used would be around $200-250

I would price the exact model new and consider about 50% as a fair market value for a used tank in good condition. Many people say that $1 per gallon is fair but I think it depends on the tank and material it's made of. I also like to take a step back and consider just the cost of the Raw materials on the equipment. Many times you can get a used tank for less money then it would cost you in materials to build it. So with that in mind a fair price it what somebody is willing to pay for it. Tanks just don't hold value well on the resale market. Also consider Warranty and liability if something goes wrong.

Ok. I was looking at glass cages and they had a 48 X 24 X 25 drilled for $375. I dont know about shipping tho. I'll keep an eye on craigslist.

Wow. For a RR 120 it's like 650 here. Brand new. I just got a 180 used for 400.

i paid $450 for 120gRR w/dual overflows and $45 for ea. overflow setup. it was all brand new from a LFS. so $200-$250 is not bad. watch craigslist and RC. hard times makes great deals for some. i just got a 90gRR tank, stand, canopy, 30g sump, return pump, 80lbs+ of LR, 30lbs of sand, redsea wavemaker for $500 and an extra $200 for the (2)250w DE HQI/ PC(2) combo light.

I think it really does depend on the tank you are looking at. I paid $450 for a used Oceanic Tech 120 with starphire front glass that was in near perfect condition. I like the 50 % rule that Playa-1 put out there going either up or down by 10-15% depending on the tanks condition.

Though I would kind of doubt that any manufacture would honor the warranty for anyone but the original purchaser and even then it seems like you have to buy the manufactures stands for the warranty to be honored.
