sand transfer

what would anyone say is the best way to transfer sand from one tank to a upgrade tank?

Plastic dust pan should work pretty good.

Is the tank that the sand is going in full?If so make a funnel of some sort th put the sand in to avoid a sand storm,& cut the flow.

Me too. I would at least rinse it very well between tanks if I used old sand.

I used a shovel

I put the sand in then filled it with pre-mixed salt water.

how long has the sand been in the other tank as it will have all the nitrates from your old one and it will effect the new tank tremendously.It may be easier to use new sand if you can.( just my opinion).
