light queston
I've posted a few times regarding lights. This seems to be the best deal I have found with my limited knowledge http://www.marinedepot.com/ps_viewit...ontent=CU01122
It's the 48" Current USA Nova Extreme 4x54W T5HO for 245 dollars. The light will go on a typical 75 gallon tank. My goal is to keep zoas, some sps, maybe lps and if I ever get the urge, a clam. Is there a better light within a similar price? What are your opinions about this? If you have any better deals/lights within a reasonable price, please post your link! Thank you. |

From what I've been reading, that won't be enough light for SPS or clams. I'm still doing research though, so I'd love to hear what other people have to say about this.

That light will be effective in a tank that is not more than 12-14" deep for a clam. The challenge for your question is knowing how far from the light you want to keep specific photosyenthetic corals.
IF you used this light and kepth the corals within 12-14" of the top of the tank, it will work. Keeping sps requires good light or close enough to an appropriate light source. A very clean tank (good skimmer) and good flow.
