Bulbs? 48" and 36"
just started my 150 but the lights that are on my tank came from my pop's 120 fresh. Its a Corallife InIzard Two Lamp electronic ballast 120v/60hz for Two 24",36" or 48" lamps
I checked the bulbs 1 48" Sylvania Day Light 40watt 1 36" CoralLife Actinic Blue 7100k Do I need to up grade my bulbs? Right now and what replacement bulbs would fit? I have a FOWLR tank but maye be later I might look in to getting a few frags or some other stuff. |

T8 bulbs? If so they will work for a fowlr but not for a reef. The entire fixture will need to be upgraded, not just the bulbs

what ^ said! not for any knid of coral but for fish it is fine.. im guessing it is the 4 ft 120 and i would recommend metal halides if you do change the lighting.

am3gross Thats what my pop's had the 120 fresh. Now I have the 150. Thanks for all the help. What type of fixtures are out there? These are connected to the hood of the tank with light holders and the ballast is screwed into the hood with the 4 cords coming off of it. What up grade the ballast to power the lights then what about the conections?

would need ballasts, wiring , endcaps, T5 bulbs ( asuming this is the route you went) and individual reflectors per bulb.. As said before the entire hood would need to be upgraded or swapped for another one. Look into T5 lighting and Metal halide fixtures
