Spawning clownfish-now what????

I have a 20 gallon reef tank with 2 false perculas and I noticed today that they have spawned. I would like to try to raise them since they are mating. Does anyone have any good references out there?

Joyce Wilkerson book on clownfish is your best bet. You have too much work to do to try and save this batch. Your clowns will spawn every couple of weeks from now on if they are fed properly and are not disturbed.

Gotcha, guess I will be doing some research on the subject. Good to know that it will happen again soon. :-)

I'm currently in the same boat. I set up a phytoplankton culture and a rotifer culture to raise the fry, my cultures have just recently matured so the next batch of eggs my clownfish lay I'll try and raise.

There's a few resources online that should help you out. I've been reading www.breedclownfish.com and http://www.melevsreef.com/phytoplankton.html

Culturing phytoplankton and rotifers is really easy once you get it setup, but you will have to dedicate a little space for it all. I use a small corner of closet for the phyto, rotifers and 10g fry tank.

Thanks Eric. I will need to get all the stuff to start culturing phytoplankton and rotifers I guess. Good luck with your breeding!
