Saving on phosphate control

Have to use a lot of Ferric oxide since I am running 4 tanks with almost 3000 gal. First found reasonable Phos reactors at Champion lighting. Second I learned about Bulk Reef Supply. They sell a 22.5lb tub that really saves me some money. Depending on your bio load eventually the ferric oxide starts to loose its punch. The last and most important thing I learned is that you can take all the used ferric oxide granules wash and clean along with the filter pads in the reactor and use them again. The length of use will shorten after each use but I am on my third round with the batch Now in use. Realize everone will not use as much as I do but Your savings will be there. Can not be more happy with the way my sps and corals have reacted since Ive started using this product. Hope this helps someone else I know everything I save leaves me more to buy other things for my tanks

I have never heard about washing GFO to make it work again. Do you have any links that supports this?

We discuss removing the phosphate from GFO at very high pH (14) here:

What measure is 10? Phosphates are usually controlled to less than 0.05 ppm.
