WTB small tank-raised frag Aussie elegance

Lost my tank centerpiece, a four color, two-headed Trachy when I moved out here from the east coast - amazingly, it was the only thing I lost. I'm looking for a bit of flash to replace it with, and what is more flashy than an elegance?

I'm Looking for a smallish frag of Aussie elegance coral, preferably in/near/not too far from the Riverside/MoVal area. I'm only interested in tank-raised, and the parent colony should have been kept in captivity for at least a year. Not looking for the pale/white variety - I'm after the green type - don't care about tip color - it just has to be captive-raised and long-lived. Let me know what you've got! Thanks!

Joe

I doubt anyone with a "long lived, captive raised" elegance would be willing to cut it.

Did you try looking for aussie elegance at some of the LFS?

From what I hear, when they become established, they grow fairly quickly. I also don't want to support the harvesting of animals with marginal to no chance of success. I have heard that colonies from Australia are not generally prone to the problems that plague Indonesian colonies, but I'd rather not gamble. If a retailer has one in stock that they've been able to maintain for at least 6-8 months with full tentacle extension, I'd definitely consider it. So far, no luck on that front either though.

BEcause of the hardiness of the Aussie Elegances they go quick. No LFS wants to sit on anything 6-8 months but an aussie elegance wouldn't even last a week

The Indo ones have no chance of success but I haven't really heard of anyone having problems with the Aussie variety...
