Colony polyps taking over
I introduced colony polyps to my tank about 1.5 years ago and they have since been thriving. They have spread to about 8x their original coverage. I'm beginning to be concerned that they are going to take over my entire reef.
So my question is how can I control them spreading? And can I "prune" the existing by just pulling them off the rock?

They will eventually cover all your rock if they're happy. You can keep them away from other stuff by separating your rock so they can't spread further. If this isn't possible, you can certainly prune them. Use a sharp blade and remove at the base without damaging the polyps, then mount the cuttings and trade or sell them...
