Yellow Corris Wrasse.
Does anyone have a yellow corris wrasse in a bare bottom tank? I have one that I would like to move into a bb(for now) tank. He currently sleeps in the sand.

I wouldnt do it for a long period of time. They are happy and feel safe when buried in the sand. It is their natural defense mechanism. If its for a short period of time it shouldnt be an issue. Can you put a small pile of sand in the corner of your BB tank.

The plan was to put a shallow bed down with a deeper section in a rock corral. The tank is doing so well bb that I hate to change it. I have not picked out a sand size yet either. I would like to go super fine but, I think I have too much flow.

Yeah, I agree with not doing it. The ones I had would always retire into the sand and arise in the morning. I imagine that taking that away would stress the fish.

Trust me they will do just fine if you give them a hiding place such as live rock and not too close to the pump. My yellow wrasse was very active in the sump.

I asked a similar question about a QT tank and someone gave me the idea of putting in a small tupperware container of sand. Have not done it yet but seems like a great idea.
